Hi! When joining the legs of Beverly the Beaver, you still have theright leg on your hook. You ch 4, then insert your crochet hook into the indicated stitch on the left leg and continue crocheting around the left leg. You then get back to the ch 4 you made before, you work 4 stitches into these chain stitches, and that's how you end up on the right leg again. You then work around the right leg. In round 2 of the body (we start numbering the rounds anew), we work in the other side of the ch 4 and continue working around the joined legs (that now make up the base of the body).
