Victor's underwear

I'm struggling with the pattern diagram for the underwear. I can't figure out how the stitches add up to 60. I'm also not sure how the pattern relates to the 11sc____6sc.   1sc that's shown below it.

Thank you!

Hi Nicole,

I just finished Victor and was also struggling with the diagram. The 11sc___6sc that you can underneath is the part of the pattern that you are supposed to repeat as often as necessary to finish one round. The way I understand it is that in round 28 for example you would start with the stitches before (5 sc in white) then repeat the marked section (2sc in red and 4sc in white) a few times and at the end of the row finish with the rest of the pattern (1sc white, 2sc red and 5sc white). However, it didn't really add up for me in this way.

So I adapted the pattern to my liking and for rows 28 and 29 crocheted *4sc white and 2sc red*  repeat x10. [60 stitches]. For rows 31 and 32 I crocheted 2sc white, 2sc red, *4sc white, 2sc red* repeat x9, 2sc white. [60 stitches]

Hope that helps.

Desiree

Hi Nicole, thanks for your message and sorry for the late reply! Desischnee is right, the part that is underlined is the part from the 6th to the 11th stitch of the round, and this part is repeated as many times as necessary to finish the round.
