Hi Nastja, thanks for your message and sorry for the confusion! In Rnd 17 you work 11 stitches, then you change to pink yarn and remove the stitch marker that indicated the end of the round, and continue Rnd 18 in the next stitch as usual (in the same crochet direction), working 23 stitches. The description 'Leave the remaining stitches unworked' is a bit confusing here, it really just means that you don't have to continue working stitches until you reach the stitch marker on the round below.
