Flower girl's hat

Hello

I am having a hard time with the flower girl's hat.

The first set of stitches should be 14 total.

The second is supposed to be 18 total. However, the instructions (french edition) are 2 sc, 1 hdc, 2 double crochet, 4 double crochet, 2 double crochet, 1 hdc, 2 sc, chain 1, turn.

So that's 14 again, and not 18.

Same thing with the third row, the instructions go 1 sc, 3 hdc, 2 double crochet, 6 double crochet, 2 double crochet, 3 hdc, 1 sc, chain 1, turn. So that's 18 and not 24 stitches total mike it's supposed to be....

I think the whole set of instructions might be wrong in my edition. Would someone please be ok to share the right ones?

Thank you !

C.

Hi Nour! I have checked the rows you mentioned, these are the English instructions.

"Ch 7. Work around both sides of the foundation chain.

Rnd 1: start in second ch from hook, sc in next 5 ch, 4 sc in next ch. Continue on the other side of the foundation chain: sc in next 5 st, ch 1, turn [14] (picture 5)

Continue crocheting in rows.

Row 2: sc in next 2 st, hdc in next st, dc in next 2 st, dc inc in next 4 st, dc in next 2 st, hdc in next st, sc in next 2 st, ch 1, turn [18]

Row 3: sc in next st, hdc in next 3 st, dc in next 2 st, dc inc in next 6 st, dc in next 2 st, hdc in next 3 st, sc in next st, ch 1, turn [24]"

I think the parts in bold are the ones missing. Could you please have a look at your translated edition to see if these bits are included as dc inc (double crochet increases) instead of just dc (double crochet)? And if they're missing, can you please tell me in which language your book is? I'll get in touch with our partner publisher then to see if we can correct this in a reprint :).

Hello

Thank you so much for your answer.

Yes, in the French instructions that I have, the 4 stitches in the second row and the 6 stitches in the third row (the parts in bold in your message) that should be dc increases are included just as dc.

Thanks, now I can get to work ! 😊
