sewing the holes between the fingers closed

Question from Melissa by email:

Good afternoon.

I brought the Unicorns and Dragons 2 and am trying the Yeti Junior pattern. But I am having trouble with round five of the finger section

"SC in the next two stitches on the third finger, SC in the next five on the second finger, Sc in the next two the third finger, SC in the next five on the first finger [14]. One stitch remains unworked between fingers. Use the yarn tails to sew the holes between the fingers closed."

Exactly what does the last sentence mean? Am I sewing up the fingers so they are now tubes that just need to be stuffed with something to look like fingers (Like in the picture attached?)? Is it something else? I've tried to figure it out and the book doesn't have any useful pictures for this part. Is there someplace I go, where I can see what I am meant to do?

Hi Melissa,

For your convenience, you can ignore the last sentence for now. I can see it is confusing at this point. Basically, when the hand is all ready, you'll see that there are small holes between the fingers (you have left 1 stitch unused, which creates a hole). You can sew these holes closed at the end, if you like, when they're more visible.

So simply ignore it for now and continue with the second round. You'll see the hand take shape.
