*Bella the Beluga Whale is a part of the free Ocean CAL I'm co-hosting! Check out more details on @crochetalongadventures on IG.

*Did you know that belugas got their name from the Russian word, белый (bélyj) meaning "white"? Though, their calves are born gray and take almost up to 8 years to become their adult color!
Belugas are also known as the "sea canaries", or the most vocal of all whales. They love to sing, chirp, and are social creatures. They also have a thick layer of blubber to keep them warm in the chilly arctic temperatures.

Bella the Beluga Whale is a part of the Cook Inlet family of belugas - they were listed as an endangered species in 2008 mostly due to unregulated hunting. She is happy to be alive and to swim free!

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, front loops only
Measurement: 10 in. x 3 in. (25 cm x 11 cm)
