Little Humpty

$ 5.50

US English pattern by Irene Strange. Includes step-by-step pictures.

Little Humpty is quite the adventurer. As well as that infamous encounter with a wall (which shall remain nameless), he has been all over the peaks of the Lake District. He scaled the biggest slides in Battersea Park, and walked the plank on a genuine pirate ship! Right now he is planning to set the world record on book climbing, one little book at a time. It’s lucky his flying cap is there to slow his next fall!

The instructions are given in US crochet terms, with written and charts for the colourwork sections and a written plain body option. There are plenty of step-by-step photos detailing how to make the pieces and finish the toy. When made with DK weight yarn (sample made in Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK) and 3.50mm hook the finished Humpty will measure about 18cm/7in tall.

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, back loops only, front loops only, crochet into a ring, invisibly decrease 3 stitches at once
Measurement: 20cm tall if made in DK weight cotton with matching hook
