The Speckled Seahorse bobs gently in the ocean waves, holding on to corals and kelp with her long twirly tail - the bobble texture along the spine helps her blend in with her colourful surrounding!

The instructions are written in US crochet terms, with step by step photos detailing how to make the pieces and finish the toy.

The seahorse made in DK weight cotton yarn and 3mm hook will measure 23cm/9in tall. The sample is made in hand dyed cotton DK from The Mermaid’s Purse Yarns in colour way Hippocampus.

You will need:

DK and 4-ply weight cotton in your preferred colours
35gr/60m of Main Colour (DK)
10gr/15m of Contrast Colour (4-ply)
3.0mm hook
20mm Black Safety Eyes
Toy Stuffing
Wire or chenille stems for the tail
Tapestry Needle
Scissors

Stitches used: magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, half double crochet, crochet into a ring, invisibly decrease 3 stitches at once
Measurement: 23cm / 9 in tall
