SKILLS NEEDED
Advanced Intermediate

MATERIALS NEEDED
yarn in your choice of colors (about 311-331 yds/284-303 m of worsted/aran), a size E/4 (3.5 mm) crochet hook, stitch markers, tapestry needle, Stuffing, pins, scissors, chopstick to help stuff, Dritz Disc Needle Pullers (optional), Pet Slicker Brush (optional for brushing the beard and hair). Optional if also adding Poly Pellets are nylon stocking, funnel, and measuring cup.

NOTE
The miniature Nutcracker Gnome in the images is made using the same pattern, size 10 crochet thread, and a 1.5 mm hook and results in finished measurements of approximately 7.5 inches/19 cm from toe to the top of the knob on the hat.

Along with the stitches noted below the pattern also includes looping yarn to make the hair/beard and some simple hand embroidery.

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, half double crochet, double crochet, back loops only, front loops only, triple crochet, bobble stitch, picot stitch, back ridge, fastening off in the invisible way
Measurement: Approximately 14.5 inches/37 cm tall from the bottom of the foot to the top of the knob on the hat
