Discovery the vibrant and sparkling world of seaside amigurumi with Genevieve the Lifeguard.
Part-time student and part-time lifeguard, Genevieve is studying to be an oceanographer. She longs for the day when she can get on a ship and start a sea expedition. She’s working hard to finish her scientific study, and when the sea is calm, she sometimes drifts off into daydreams about the underwater world. Genevieve is very responsible though, not letting these daydreams distract her from her duty. If there’s an aquatic animal in need of help, Genevieve and her friend Candy the Hermit Crab will dive right in!

PATTERN DETAILS

- Pattern included instructions on making Genevieve the Lifeguard and her friend Candy the Hermit Crab;

- Note that this pattern example was created with the yarn under technique to create “V” stitches;
- Stitches used: magic ring, ch, sc, inc, dec, slst, hdc, dc, dtr, bobble st, BLO/FLO;
- The finished Genevieve is 9.5” / 24 cm tall when made with the indicated yarn;
- Level: intermediate.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

- Yarns Gazzal Jeans (58% cotton, 42% polyacrylic 170 m/50g) in skin color, lavender, off-white, coral, clear blue, blue, turquoise, dark blue, light, yellow, pink;
- Scraps of yarn in different colors for embroidery, including spring green, pink, coral and dark blue (you may want to use embroidery thread);
- B-1 / 2 mm crochet hook;
- Sewing needle;
- Yarn needle;
- Pins;
- Stitch markers;
- Fiberfill for stuffing;
- Small black beads or safety eyes for the hermit crab (2 mm);
- Optional: approx. 10” / 24 cm of wire or pipe cleaner for the arms.
