I crocheted this bear for my son, Paul, when he was three. The kids named him Tummy teddy. Tummy teddy is one of those toys, which was born during an improvisational streak: I just began crocheting and watched how it developed. While some toys have a long development story and find their final form after many attempts, Tummy teddy has hardly been altered. I guess he had the right shape from the very start. His character traits are patches on the paws and a bellybutton dimple, but also the slightly sad facial expression, which makes you want to give him a big hug.
