Possible error in pattern

I'm working on Peggy right now and I think Rnd 3 of the body should read:

((yellow) sc in next 4 st, 1/2 inc in next st, (off-white)) repeat 6 times [36]

The way it's written in the book makes it look like you're supposed to do two 1/2 increases back to back, which doesn't work out to 36 stitches and messes up the jacquard pattern.

I realized something had to be wrong because I couldn't get round 4 to work out for the life of me until I studied pictures of Peggy's shirt in the book and noticed that the pattern seems to go 5 yellow stitches followed by one off-white.

I frogged back to the start of round 3 and just worked one 1/2 increase after every 4th stitch and now everything works out fine. 😁

Hi Crazyfrog13,

I believe you're referring to this part:

Continue working in a jacquard pattern, alternating off-white and yellow yarn. The color you work is indicated before each part.
Note: In the next round you will read ½ inc in next st. Work the first stitch of this increase in one color and the second stitch in the other color.
Rnd 3: ((yellow) sc in next 4 st, ½ inc in next st, (off-white) ½ inc in next st) repeat 6 times [36]

The way you write it, you would work only half an increase, which would be a plain single crochet stitch. Also, you wouldn't work any stitch after the color change? I'm not sure how that would work out.

I do agree that we could improve writing this instruction as follows:

Rnd 3: ((yellow) sc in next 4 st, ½ inc in next st, (off-white) ½ inc in same st) repeat 6 times [36]

I hope this helps! This will be corrected in the third print run. Thanks for pointing that out!
