Hi! Thanks for your message. In round 9 of the arms, you ch 9, count 9 stitches and work a sc in the 10th st, then sc in the next 2 st of the round. You then continue working on the 9 ch and the 3 sc you made in round 9. You can see a picture of the finished arm on page 76 of the book (step pictures 5 and 6). When assembling the otter, you stuff both halves of the arm and then sew the halves together, creating the right angle. I hope this helps you out, enjoy crocheting!

Do you have step by step pictures of this round? I'm so confused. I've ch 9 and sc 3 but I don't know what to do next. If I go to the first ch it looks weird

Hi Ninafunk, sorry for the late reply, I crocheted part of the arm myself to try and make step pictures, I hope they're helpful.

So at the end of round 8 you have 12 stitches in the round (please ignore the bad lighting, the weather's a bit cloudy over here, I've also crocheted two rounds instead of eight to speed things up, and I've used a heavier yarn weight to make the photography easier ;-)):

You then proceed to make 9 chain stitches:

And skip 9 stitches in the round and start working in the 10th stitch (make sure your chains aren't twisted around when making the joining sc):

You then work a sc in each of the next 3 stitches in the round.

To start round 10, you start working in the first chain stitch you made earlier:

You then continue making a sc in each chain stitch across and when you reach the end of the chain, you continue working on the round again:

You then make a sc in each of the next 3 stitches in the round. This brings you to the end of round 10, with a total stitch count of 12. :)

For rounds 11, 12 and 13, you continue working in the round, making 12 sc in each round.

On page 76 of the book, you'll find more info on how to stuff and sew the arms at an angle, to give them their final shape.

I hope this helps you out!
