I've read everyone else's comments and I am having the same problem with the pattern. so here is a Photo of what it looks like when people have been talking about just going white blue white blue instead of the pictures where there is a clean line seperating the colors i went to round 8 .This is a gift so I hope that someone can answer my question soon .

I'm having the same problem. Mine seems to go wonky around round 5-6. How did everyone fix this issue?

Hi everyone! For this design in particular it would be very important to work with X-single crochet stitches. Instructions to work this type of single crochet stitch can be found in the introductory part of the book. They will make your crochetwork turn less, as the stitches stack more on top of each other.

There will always be a little swirl, but it will be less than when you're working V-stitches, and it will be less visible once the whale is stuffed.

I hope this helps!

I'm having the same problem! I've restarted this poor whale 4 times now and I keep having the same issue over and over, even using the yarn under x-shaped single crochet. Hopefully mine will look okay after some stuffing. :')
