Aquatic Amigurumi: Sunny The Anglerfish Big Frill

 Hello!

Could any provide guidance on the start of the Big Frill?

I am a novice at crochet amigurumi working up my skills. I have been crocheting Sunny The Anglerfish and moving along very well until I came to the Big Frill. I understand the definition of the stitches but not how I should perform the stitches at this stage in this pattern.

The start off instructions say:

1. Ch 2. Crochet in Closed Rounds

My question: is there an action I am supposed to take after Ch2 for "crochet in closed rounds" or is "crochet in closed rounds" a general instruction about how to proceed around the body for the frill?

2. Rnd 1: FLO 2 hdc in all 60 st

My question: Does the FLO 2 apply to the 2 chains I just created or to the next stitches around the body? If it applied to around the body does "FLO 2 hdc" apply to all the 60 st around the body?

Thank you!

Sarah

Hi Sarah!

A big 028-heart-1.jpg for working up crochet skills and asking for help in the process, Sunny is an adorable project and it's impressive that you're making her as a novice :).

  1. You don't need to do an action with the 'start in closed rounds' righter after 'ch 2', this indicates that we'll end the next 2 rounds with a slst before making the final ch 2 of those rounds. In other words, it's a general instruction :).
  2. You skip the ch 2 you worked at the beginning and only work in the 60 body stitches. You indeed work 2 hdc in each front loop of the next 60 stitches on the body.

I hope this helps you out, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions, we're here and happy to help :). Happy crocheting!
