I am having a problem with the directions for joining the hind legs and then continuing into the body. I have crocheted the legs. Directions say to chain seven, then join in 15th stitch on first leg, etc. I am just not understanding what to do after crocheting 15 on the first leg. When do I crochet into the chain seven? Help!!
thank you,

Hi Janis,
I think your problem situates in the first round of the body part?
Continue from the second front leg.
Rnd 1: ch 7, continue in the 15th st on the first hind leg, sc in next 14 st, continue in the 15th st on the second hind leg, sc in next 14 st, ch 7, continue in the 13th stitch on the first front leg, sc in next 12 st, ch 2, continue in the 13th stitch on the second front leg,
sc in next 12 st [68] Mark the 35th stitch of this round with a stitch marker. This will help you to start the belly later on.
Rnd 2: sc in all 68 st [68]
So you have 4 legs, your crochet hook is currently in a stitch on the second front leg.
- You crochet 7 ch and insert your hook in the 15th stitch on the first hind leg. You work 14 sc on this hind leg.
- Then you insert your crochet hook in the 15th stitch of the second hind leg, you work 14 sc on this second hind leg and then work 7 ch.
- You then insert your crochet hook in the 13th stitch on the first front leg and you work 12 sc on this leg and then work 2 ch.
- You are now back at the second front leg where you started, you insert your hook in the 13th stitch of the second front leg and work 12 sc.
You have now crocheted around all 4 legs and they are connected by various chains (these chains will be the space where the belly is formed).
In the next round you crochet around all legs AND chains.
I hope this makes it easier to work Rnd 1?
