Hi VeraSophie,
When crocheting clothes for amigurumi, it's very important to use the yarn weight as mentioned by the designer and pay attention to your tension. If you have the tendency to crochet more loosely when working in rows, you might want to use a smaller hook, which automatically makes your stitches tighter (and your outfit smaller).
The pattern has no mistakes.
I hope this helps!

Hi Sophie, I had the same problem. The tail hole was literally below the body. I went as far as two thirds down one jumpsuit leg and realized it would eventually be hanging below Lupita's leg. I ended pulling it back up to when the striping ended, and simply turned it into a dress as I'm on a time constraint for a baby shower with a safari theme. All my other animals came out great, some from Pica Pau and some from Zoomigurumi. I was told like you there's nothing wrong with the pattern and perhaps it was my tension/yarn, but I've been doing this fir years and know it's not me.
Hi Sophie. I am having the exact same problem. Having a closer look on one of the images (Lupita from behind), it looks like the yarn of the jumpsuit is actually thinner than the one of the body. Is that possible? Does anyone know more details?
Hi Sophie,
The jumpsuit is written in fingering yarn whereas Lupita is worked in dk(double knit).
fingering yarn is a lot thinner and this produces crochet that is smaller. I used the Drops Love You 7 and 9, both have really fun colours.
I hope this helps a bit!

Yeah, the jumpsuit pattern is waaay off. I really wish in clothes patterns that Yan would say something like "your starting chain should fit around the waist loosely" or something to help us gauge if we're even close.
I had to totally re-map that jumpsuit pattern. Starting with a chain of 26 instead of 34!
I have a completed jumpsuit that maybe will one day fit another animal. 🤣
Also, I'm now seeing that Yan writes "with one strand of fingering weight yarn" why is she indicating one strand? Was it two somewhere in another part of the pattern?
Don't we all assume one strand for any pattern unless it says to double the strands?
hmm....
Hi jocelyno, Yan refers to 'one strand' because many clothes patterns in the book are worked by holding two strands of yarn together for an extra firm fabric. So you don't need to split the yarn.
Do note that the body is worked in worsted weight yarn, while the clothes are made in fingering weight yarn. Might be you looked over this change in yarn weight?
Making clothes for an amigurumi is hard! It really depends on a crocheter's tension, so testing the clothes at regular intervals really is the best strategy. Sorry to hear you had to redo the jumpsuit though!
