It seems if you do Rnd 12 (9 stitches) and then 13 you end up with 3 extra stitches once the round is complete (57 stitches not 54 as noted in the pattern). This makes sense as the 3 extra stitches are comming from the 3 Inc in Rnd 13. So with a stitch count of 57 the next round won't work! 

It is so confusing where these rounds start and end. 

Anyone got a fix for this or am I reading it wrong?

Please find a correction below:

In the next round, we'll join both feet.
Rnd 13: continue working on the first foot, inc in the marked st of the first foot (picture 2), sc in next st,
(inc in next st, sc in next st) repeat 8 times, continue on the second foot, (inc in next st, sc in next st) repeat 6 times [45] Do not finish this round.

This mistake can be found in the first and second print run of the book. It will be corrected in the third print run.
