Having trouble following this pattern and I really want to make it. Line 4 on head makes no sense to me and no matter how I do it it doesn’t equal 24 stitches

I haven't done this pattern yet, but I think I got it:

You first do the thing in the brackets, so:

3sc, *1increase (so 2 new sc), 1 sc (6 stitches)

Then you repeat starting at * two times, so:

1 increase, 1 sc, 1 increase, 1 sc (that are 6 stitches, so in total now 12)

now you repeat the brackets one more time, so

3sc, *1increase (so 2 new sc), 1 sc (18 stitches)

And since the brackets say to repeat starting at * twice, you do this, so:

1 increase, 1 sc, 1 increase, 1 sc (so in total now 24)

Hope this helps!

Hi anonymous,

I believe you're referring to this round:
Rnd 4: [sc in next 3 st, (inc in next st, sc in next st)
repeat 3 times] repeat 2 times [24]

This is a round with a double repeat. You have a repeat WITHIN another repeat. The first repeat is marked with square brackets, the second repeat with rounded brackets.

So what you do is the following:

Rnd 4: sc in next 3 st, inc in next st, sc in next st, inc in next st, sc in next st, inc in next st, sc in next st, sc in next 3 st, inc in next st, sc in next st, inc in next st, sc in next st, inc in next st, sc in next st [24]

I hope this helps!
