Pink Crochet Cactus

Cactus lovers, behold!

PINK CACTUS

MATERIALS

- Pink and white yarn

- 2,25mm crochet hook

- Soft stuffing or 5mm packing foam

- Scissors, yarn needle, stitch marker

- Clay planter (45mm tall)

FINISHED SIZE

12cm (5”) tall with:

Bella Pingouin 100% cotton, colors Sonho No.377 and White No.002

and a 2,25mm crochet hook

ABBREVIATIONS (US terminology)

BLO - back loop only

ch - chain stitch

dc - double crochet stitch

dec - decrease

FLO - front loop only

hdc - half double crochet stitch

inc - increase

mr - magic ring

sc - single crochet stitch

sl st - slip stitch

sts - stitches

[…] Nx - repeat N times whatever is in between the square brackets

(…) - number of stitches in a round

CACTUS

Make 6 lobes with pink.

6. [4sc, 1inc] 6x (36sts)

Fold each piece and close it with a row of sc. Stuff as you close, but be carefull with the amount of stuffing used. Keep the pieces in a flat shape. Cut yarn leaving a long tail for sewing the 1st piece. Fasten off and weave in ends the other 5 pieces.

TIP: You can use packing foam to stuff each piece of the cactus. Cut 6 half-circles of packing foam slightly smaller than the lob and use them instead of the soft stuffing.

SOIL

Make 1 with white.

Fasten off and finish with an inverted magic ring.

FLOWER

First, we let’s make the base, with pink.

BASE

1. 6sc in mr  (6)

Work rounds 2-3 BLO

2. 6inc (12)

3. [1sc, 1inc] 6x  (18)

Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.

PETALS

Now, lets make the petals, working on the remaining loops of the base. Begin at the first stitch of the first round.

Make *1sl st, [1hdc, 3dc, 1hdc] in the next stitch* Repeat untill the last st of the last round.

Fasten off and weave in the end.

ASSEMBLING

1. Sew the first piece of the cactus to the second one. Continue sewing the next 4 pieces the same way. Sew the sixth piece to the first one, cut remaining yarn and weave in ends.

2. Sew the cactus on the top of the soil. Finish off.

3. Sew the flower on the top of the cactus. Finish off.

4. Place your cactus in the clay planter.

Faça 6 lóbulos com rosa

Dobre cada peça ao meio e feche com uma carreira de pontos baixos. Encha conforme fecha, mas com cuidado para não encher demais. Mantenha as peças achatadas. Corte o fio do primeiro lóbulo deixando um pedaço para costurar. Corte o fio e arremate os outros 5 lóbulos.

DICA: Você também pode usar espuma para embalar para encher cada lóbulo. Corte 6 meio-círculos um pouco menores que os lóbulos e use-os no lugar da fibra siliconada.

Corte o fio e arremate com um anel mágico invertido.

FLOR

Primeiro, vamos fazer a base com rosa.

BASE

Trabalhe as carreiras seguinte só na alça de trás.

Corte o fio deixando um pedaço para costurar.

PÉTALAS

Agora, vamos fazer as pétalas, trabalhando nas alças restantes da base. Comece no primeiro ponto da primeira carreira.

*1pbx, [1mpa, 3pa, 1mpa] no ponto seguinte* Repita até o final da última carreira.

Corte o fio e arremate.

MONTAGEM

1. Costure o primeiro lóbulo no segundo. Continue costurando os outos 4 lóbulos da mesma maneira. Costure o sexto lóbulo no primeiro, corte o fio e arremate.

2. Costure o cacto na parte de cima da terra, e arremate.

3. Costure a flor na parte de cima do cacto e arremate.

4. Coloque o cacto dentro do vaso.
