Every year, the adorable creatures of the Enchanted Woodland meet up for a picnic of grand proportions. Basil the Boar is an omnivore like other of his friends, so he decided to bring to the party an array of crunchy insects: worms, beetles, and bugs! Are you brave enough to try them?

The pattern is written in U.S. terminology. The main part of this project is worked in rounds so you might want to use a stitch marker to mark the end of each round. There is no specific gauge for this project, just try to keep it tight and even throughout each piece. Basil the Boar approx. 9cm (3.5in), when using the same yarn/tools as indicated below and working with the “x” single crochet technique (yarn under, yarn over).

- Ricorumi DK, 100% cotton yarn, 25g / 57.5m, Caramel (approx. 20g), Nougat (approx. 11g), Black (approx. 13g), Cream (approx. 1g), Ivory (approx. 1g), Pastel Green (approx. 2g), Pistachio (approx. 2g), Wine red (approx. 2g), Saffron (approx. 2g), Turquoise (approx. 4g), Coral (leftover for embroidery)
- 2.5mm crochet hook
- Toy stuffing
- Yarn needle
- Scissors

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, half double crochet, double crochet, back loops only, front loops only, fastening off in the invisible way
Measurement: 9cm (3.5in)
