This Low-Sew crochet pattern includes 12 pages and more than 60 photos of the detailed description of crocheting, assembly and decoration of two types of turtles: a long-necked turtle and a short-necked turtle that can sit in the usual position on all four legs or lean on its shell.

This pattern is designed for crocheting a plush turtle with chenille yarn, but you can also freely use these instructions to make a turtle with sport weight yarn. This way, you’ll end up with a cute, tiny turtle that can easily fit even in a child’s palm.

Skill level: intermediate.

Materials:
Chenille version: chenille №6 super bulky yarn in light green, brown, mustard, light blue, lilac, pink colors and any colors for flowers; 4.0 mm crochet hook; 14 mm safety eyes.
Cotton/acrylic sport weight version: sport weight cotton/acrylic or cotton yarn 160m/50g in any colors you like; 1.5 mm crochet hook; 5 mm safety eyes.

Tools:
Tapestry needle, embroidery needle, pins, stitch markers, scissors, toy stuffing.

Size of the finished toy: the plush turtle is 12x8 cm (4.7x3.1 inch) in length/height, the cotton turtle is 6x4 cm (2.4x1.6 inch) in length/height, if using the indicated yarn.

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, double crochet, back loops only, front loops only, fastening off in the invisible way
