Tucker the Tortoise

$ 3.37

US English pattern by Little Green Bear. Includes step-by-step pictures.

Tucker the tortoise loves basking in the sunshine and slowly exploring the garden - he speeds up if he spots a dandelion! You can make your Tucker crawling or sitting up - the pieces are the same but you will need to sew them on in different positions; instructions for both are included.

The 8 page pattern is intermediate skill level and uses US terminology. It is clear to follow with detailed instructions and lots of pictures for step by step making and assembly. There are also picture instructions for colour change and back loop only.

Recommended Materials:
- Yarn: I have made Tucker using Scheepjes Stone Washed XL (Aran/worsted weight yarn) - yarn amounts and colour details in pattern
- Hook: 4mm (G) crochet hook
- Stuffing: I use polyester filling
- Safety eyes: I have used 12mm plastic safety eyes, but you can embroider the eyes on if you prefer
- Yarn needle
- Pins
- (A stitch marker and row counter are useful)

You can make your Tucker crawling or sitting up - the pieces are the same but you will need to sew them on in different positions; instructions for both are included.

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, double crochet, back loops only
Measurement: He is 7.5 inches by 5 inches (if using same yarn/hook as me).
