ABOUT THIS PATTERN:
The iconic Galo de Barcelos is one of Portugal’s most beloved symbols, known for its colourful design and the famous legend of the Rooster of Barcelos. According to Portuguese folklore, the miraculous rooster proved the innocence of a wrongly accused pilgrim, becoming a symbol of faith, luck, honesty, and good fortune. This amigurumi crochet pattern brings the traditional Portuguese rooster to life through the use of crochet and embroidery, perfect for lovers of Portuguese culture, folk art, and unique crochet projects.

FINISHED SIZE:
This pattern let's you make two different sized galos depending on the yarn thickness and hook size you use. If the recommended hook and yarn size are used the large galo will be approximately 39 cm (15.3 inches) tall by 14 cm (5.5 inches) wide. The small galo will be approximately 25 cm (9.8 inches) tall by 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide.
