Crochetpattern "Aurelia Nymphalis Antiopa"
The mourning cloak/ Camberwell beauty butterfly

A butterfly which has almost completely disappeared in the Netherlands. In 1995 and 2006 there was a major invasion of mourning cloaks in the Netherlands. They do fly in other parts of Europe and North America. The butterfly has a dark brown red wing with a light yellow border with blue dots. In this crochet pattern I chose dark brown, because this color matches the color of the wing the most.

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, increase, half double crochet, double crochet, back loops only, triple crochet, bobble stitch, picot stitch
Measurement: 30cm x 20cm
