Mamaia is a minimalist crocheted pregnant woman figurine. A decorative object to keep for yourself or gift to a friend, perfect for a blessing way, a baby shower or as a pregnancy gift.
She is Rainbow Mama’s little sister : same universe, same care in the instructions, same approach to construction. A beautiful way to discover how I work before taking on a more ambitious project.

When Rainbow Mama was released, I received many questions about her construction and difficulty level. That’s what inspired me to create Mamaia, a smaller pattern, but just as surprising to construct, as a gentle introduction to my universe.

► Fingering weight cotton yarn — I used Scheepjes Catona in a skin tone (the pattern includes a list of Scheepjes Catona shades for different skin tones)
► An appropriate hook for your yarn (2.25 mm — size B — with Scheepjes Catona)
► A tapestry needle
► Pins
► 2 stitch markers
► Polyfill stuffing

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, double crochet, back loops only, front loops only, crochet into a ring, invisibly decrease 3 stitches at once, fastening off in the invisible way, Crochet into a ring
Measurement: Approximately 4.5 cm tall (1.8’’), depending on the yarn used and your tension.
