Meet Hoot the Owl - the colourful older brother of Little Hoot the Owl. He loves to read and take care of Little Hoot (though sometimes he can be a bossy older sibling!). He also likes to look smart in his top hat!

The pattern uses US terminology and includes instructions for making Hoot and his top hat.

Hoot is made using 8 ply (DK) cotton with a 3mm crochet hook. Note: his eyes are made using 4 ply (Fingering) cotton with a 2.5mm crochet hook.

Hoot will be approximately 11 cm tall when using the suggested yarn weight and hook size.

Stitches used: chain, magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, half double crochet, double crochet, front loops only, starting an oval piece with a foundation chain, fastening off in the invisible way
Measurement: 11 cm (4 in)
