I’ve made Pru the penguin and her chick using a super chunky #6 weight plush yarn. This is ideal for a big soft and huggable toy and is a quick make - you can make your penguin in a few hours. The penguins can also be made in a smaller weight yarn, with a smaller crochet hook.

The 13 page pattern is intermediate skill level and uses US terminology. It is clear to follow with detailed instructions and lots of pictures for step by step making and assembly. There are also picture instructions for colour change, back loop only and invisible finish.

Recommended Materials:
- Yarn: I have made Pru using Hobbii Baby Snuggle Solid (super chunky weight plush yarn) - yarn amounts and colour details in pattern
- Hook: 5mm (H) crochet hook (a 6mm hook is also needed for the chest piece)
- Stuffing: I use polyester filling
- Safety eyes: I have used 12mm for Pru and 9mm for the chick plastic safety eyes, but you can embroider the eyes on if you prefer
- Large yarn needle
- Pins
- (A stitch marker and row counter are useful)

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, magic ring, single crochet, increase, (invisible) decrease, half double crochet, double crochet, back loops only
Measurement: She is 9 inches tall and her chick is 7 inches tall (if using same yarn/hook as me).
